Hey my fellow 90’s baby, this is our TWENTIES! Whatever twenty-something you are, during this decade we fan the flames of liberty, exploration, and discovery. We venture in pursuit of all pertaining to SELF: Self-improvement, Self-discovery, Self-awareness, and self-efficacy.   As children we hoped to be in our double digits: 8’s wanting to be 10. Once we were in double digits we could not wait to be in our teens. In our teens, we wished to be 16 or 18 and then, at last, we wished to be 21! Now that you’re twenty-something… what’s next?

images.jpegIf you’re anything like me you are not too fond of adulting. You have either survived your Quarter-life crisis, working through one, or have not yet experienced it. If you are at the point in your life where you are trying to choose a path or have already chosen a path,  keep fanning the flames. Our 20s are meant for exploration, in every aspect of the word. Our 20s are when we should be selfish: selfish with our heart, selfish with our money, and most importantly selfish with our time.  It is a time that we tour the world and have cultural experiences.  A time to dine and connect with people diverse from us in language and culture, but so much like us in the exploration of self.  We should ask questions like ‘who am I?’ and ‘why am I here?’  This is the time to pursue all of our wildest dreams and deepest desires we’ve had as children, with guns blazing. Unknown.pngOur 20s may be the most glorious decade of our lives, it is a decade of self-discovery. We are now responsible for ourselves; “old enough to make the right decisions and young enough to make the wrong ones”. We are off on our own and no longer under the umbrella of our parents, trying to figure out a life for ourselves. Whatever you do decide to do, do so wholeheartedly. Try not to anchor yourself to just any one thing. Use this decade to try EVERYTHING and never let your feet touch the ground.

Change.  Grow.  Experience.  Learn.
